Skyscraper in Moscow Hit by Second Drone Attack

- Multiple drones were shot down overnight on Monday, he said.
- However, “one flew into the same tower at the Moskva City complex” that was targeted on Sunday.
Ukraine Blamed for the Latest Attack
Russia’s defence ministry blamed Ukraine for the latest attack on the Moscow skyscraper.
- Kyiv did not comment on responsibility but warned Russia that the conflict could soon move to its territory.
- No one was injured in the skyscraper attack, but Moscow mayor said the IQ-Quarter Tower 1 building’s “glazing was destroyed over 150 sq m”.
Increasing Tensions and Ongoing Conflict

- There have been over 415 mass shootings in the country so far this year, according to data collected by the Gun Violence Archive.
Potential Impact of Global Warming on Violent Crime
- Scientists have predicted that a 2-degree increase in global average temperatures could increase the rate of violent crime by 3 percent in temperate regions like Europe.
- An American research paper forecasts that global warming could add an extra 22,000 murders, 1.2 million aggravated assaults, and 2.3 million simple assaults to U.S. crime statistics between 2010 and 2099.
Ukraine-Russia Conflict in 2022
- Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
- In other developments:
- A dormitory was damaged in an overnight Russian drone attack on Kharkiv, says the mayor of the north-eastern Ukrainian city.
- Six people – including a 10-year-old girl – were killed and 75 injured in a Russian missile strike on the central Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih on Monday, local officials say.
- Also on Monday, three people were killed in Ukrainian shelling of the Russian-occupied city of Donetsk in eastern Ukraine, according to Moscow-installed local officials.
The situation remains volatile, and both nations are on edge as they grapple with the consequences of the ongoing conflict and the use of unmanned aerial vehicles as tools of aggression.
